GroceryWise does not collect personal data on this site. There is no account system, no login, and no profile.

Analytics

We load Google Tag Manager for anonymised analytics. The data captured is limited to page views, referrer, and anonymised user-agent — nothing that identifies you personally.

Search

We record the words typed into the search box, how many products they matched, and an anonymised technical fingerprint — never anything that identifies you, and never your IP address. We use it to find the searches that return nothing, so we can fix them. Please do not type personal details into the search box.

Outbound retailer links

When you click “View at retailer”, the link passes through GroceryWise so we can count how many people visit each retailer and may carry an affiliate tag that credits us for the referral. We record only which retailer link was clicked and an anonymised technical fingerprint — never anything that identifies you. The retailer's own site may then set its own cookies under its privacy policy.

If you subscribe to our weekly half-price digest, your email address is shared with Beehiiv (our newsletter platform) so they can deliver the digest to your inbox. Beehiiv's handling of that email is governed by their own privacy policy — see beehiiv.com/privacy.

Cookies and browser storage

GroceryWise does not set any first-party cookies. Google Tag Manager and any tags configured inside it may set their own cookies; that behaviour is documented in Google's own privacy documentation.

The search box keeps your last few searches in your own browser so it can offer them back to you. That list is held on your device rather than sent to us, and the “Clear” control in the search box deletes it. Your current search term is also kept for the tab you are in, so it survives moving between pages, and it goes when you close the tab.
