How the basket is priced
20 everyday items, each with a set size such as 2L of full-cream milk, so every store is priced on the same thing. Each week, each store is priced on the cheapest mix of its own packs that reaches that size, overbuying by at most 25% and not at all for perishables. An item named for a brand is matched to that brand; an own-brand item is matched to each store's own brand at the same tier, or to its other tier where it has none.
No fresh fruit, vegetables or meat yet. Prices are the standard shelf prices from one online store per retailer, which apply nationally, with that week's specials included; "Without specials" shows the same items at regular prices. Online-only deals and member or loyalty prices are left out.
Prices are read in the Wednesday sweep, when the week's catalogues change. Weeks run Wednesday to Tuesday, from 29 Jul 2026. The ▲▼ changes compare the items in both weeks' baskets, so a product joining or leaving does not count as a price change.
